Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

I am preparing for the second year of the fitness program here at PCMS. My goal is to have students stay active this Spring and to learn fitness skills for a lifetime of healthy habits.

 

Every Tuesday and Thursday after school beginning on April 12, 2011 (3:15-4:30) we will meet in the auditorium. My plan is to help all who participate in the program to successfully complete a 5k run/walk (3.1 miles) at the end of our training. The race will run through the City of Port Clinton and end in the True Lay Stadium on May 26.

 

Students will need proper supportive shoes to run/walk comfortably and to prevent injury. They will also need sweatshirts, sweatpants, hats and gloves for colder days. It is best to layer clothing especially in April when the temperature varies.

 

I suggest checking with your doctor before starting a new fitness program.
